What does Julian & Sons do?

Julian & Sons is a luxury woodworking facility, specializing in designing and building custom furniture-grade cabinetry and architectural millwork. We combine these features to create entirely personalized environments. We can take each project from design to completion. Our specialties include executive offices, boardrooms, media rooms, trophy rooms, libraries, gun rooms, kitchens, and wine rooms; virtually anything in which fine woodworking is involved.

Where do we start?

Give us a call.

The sooner we are involved in the design or conception stage, the better. Our experience in the construction industry and design layout will help to save time and money in the overall project. Ready to get started, or do you have any questions? Contact us today.

What is INVOLVED IN the design process?

During the consultation interview, we start by defining the scope of the project. We will then send out a design proposal. If the design contract is rewarded, we will provide a detailed floor plan with elevation drawings and an estimated budget.

The design process depends upon the size or scope of the project. Small projects may be planned over the phone or with e-mails; however, a more complex project may require an on-site consultation.

Once the scope is clarified and the design is approved, we then submit an accurate cost proposal. If a manufacturing contract is rewarded the project is put onto our schedule. We will continue to work with the client and all necessary parties involved in the project.

DO YOU ACTUALLY BUILD THE ROOM?

For many projects, we generally assist your local contractor and let them spearhead the construction of the substructure and coordinate the mechanical sub-contractors. We are team players and realize that for a project to run smoothly and efficiently, all parties involved must work together in order to achieve the best results. Thanks to our experience in these specialized projects, we have met some very qualified technicians and artists who may be able to enhance the project and continue to aid in Julian and Sons’ being the expert in the field of custom cabinetry and architectural millwork.

HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH A PROJECT?

Call us to schedule an interview. Custom design is very personal, and we want the project to reflect your personality, not ours. We need to get to know you as an individual, then we will have somewhere to start. The interview gives us insight into your likes and dislikes. Since most of our work is in very specialized areas, we take into consideration the mechanical, structural, and aesthetic aspects of your overall project. This is where we can help get the project started in the right direction, which ultimately saves you both time and money. If on-site consultation is required, travel expenses will be added to the consultation fee.

We encourage all major people involved in the project (i.e., the architect, builder, designer, etc.) to be involved in the process. Successful collaborations require team effort; when all are working together the project will smoothly.

I ALREADY HAVE AN ARCHITECT AND/OR INTERIOR DESIGNER. WILL YOU WORK WITH THEM?

Absolutely! We are team players who work for your best interest. We have worked with many fine architects, designers, artists, and specialists that share our knowledge and experience. Thanks to this experience we can mutually share important input from the design stage forward. This will save you both time and money, ensuring a better project overall.

DO YOU HAVE A CATALOG OR PRICE LIST?

Because all of our projects are custom and unique, we do not have a standard price list. Our completed projects are our catalog. On our website, we have many photographs showing the quality of our work and our design capacity. The pricing of each project is based on the scope of the work and the many variables involved. We do not like surprises and neither do our clients, so everything will be spelled out in an honest and fair manner. Our clients have found us more than competitive for the quality of our work. Rarely is there an apples-to-apples comparison for the product we provide versus products available through other companies. We are proud of our reputation for honesty and integrity.

WHAT’S YOUR TURN-AROUND TIME?

We work on a first-come, first-serve basis. The delivery time is dependent on the scope of work and our current backlog. The sooner we get in on your project the better we can accommodate your time frame.

DO YOU BUILD JUST A SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE?

Yes! We can work from a photo, sketch, or idea. We can usually design a piece based on phone and email conversations. Designing and building a single piece of furniture is always a welcome project.
